Soil sampling is utilised to determine whether operations have contaminated the soil and the extent of the contamination. Soil samples are collected by Apex and analysed by a SANAS accredited laboratory in accordance with analytical laboratory protocol and applicable methodology. The results are then compared to the Soil Screening Values for Commercial / Industrial land usage from the National Norms and Standards for the Remediation of Contaminated Land and Soil Quality in the Republic of South Africa (No. 36447) or international standards (where applicable). Remedial measures are provided to avoid further contamination of the soil.
