Ergonomic Risk Assessments

To identify situations that may negatively impact on an employee’s Musculo-Skeletal System health as per the requirements of Section 8 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (1993) as well as the Human Factors Management Standard (SANS 3000-4:2011) – clause 4. 

This is achieved by appraising ergonomic task demands in order to identify the risk of exhaustion or occupational injuries.

Work tasks will be ergonomically screened using either:

  1. the Cube Model, developed by (Kadefors, 1993), recognised by the International Labour Organisation, or 
  2. the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, Threshold Limit Values (ACGIH-TLVs) for Lifting, 2011.
